DANCE OF THE TUMBLERS (REPRISE) - The Orchestra

I met Judy Noeh (from the newsgroup) at her hotel downtown so we could go to the concert together (she came all the way from Germany!) Judy wanted to up and change before we left, so Emily and I waited in the lobby where I could see a lot of people with passes for the concert (obviously part of the show in one way or another)...and there were about 6 tour busses parked around the hotel also. About two minutes later, who should walk by but Michael W. Smith! He glanced at me, but I just smiled. Then a guy was talking to him and wanted to get a picture with him but everyone around was busy...so I went up with MY camera and said, "I'll take one for you if you take one for me!" And that was how I met Smitty. We posed for the picture with him, and he asked our names and said he also had a daughter named Emily. He also said to pray for him because his head was all stuffed up and he had a really bad cold, but still of course had to do the show. I didn't get an autograph, but I was sure happy to finally meet him!

After Judy came back down, we walked around downtown Cinci for a while, then took a taxi to the nearby stadium where the concert was. We first went to the office to find out where to pick up our passes and tickets, and who should come in but Amy's two daughters, Millie and Sarah! We didn't speak to them, but it was neat to see them standing next to us. :)

When we had our tickets and passes, we went up to the reception room and waited for Amy. There were maybe about 40 or 50 people, and we were about the third group in line to meet Amy. We got her autograph and posed for a picture. I asked Amy if she remembered singing "Baby Baby" on the riverboat to a little girl, and she said to Emily, "So THAT'S where I've seen you before! Did your mama drag you down here again?!" :) Amy also asked her if she remembered her, and something about she should be familiar with her from meeting the last time. I think I said something about, she should be, since she see's Amy's face all over my office and hears her singing all the time! And I also told Amy that Emily has her own Amy website now.

All too soon it was over. We were hanging around talking with some other fans when they asked us to go to our seats. I hated to go...I hoped to get a couple more pictures :( But we went to our seats, which were about 20 rows from the stage...not too bad for the concert, but REAL bad for taking pictures! Next time I will get tickets as soon as they go on sale! (And take a better camera!)

The concert was awesome! Amy sang a lot of Christmas songs by herself and also with MWS and Cece Winans. The Nashville Symphony was wonderful, and Emily sat still for the entire (almost) 3 hour concert! She loved the colored lights and especially got excited when the artists sang their "signature hits" and Amy sang Emily's favorite song..."Baby Baby!" But whenever Amy wasn't on stage, Emmy wanted her back! When Amy was singing "I'll Be Home For Christmas," Emily looked up at me and said "Her be going home Mom!" (She only just turned 3) :) She even tried to sing along with everyone during the sing-along portion, and had a lot of fun clapping too! Emily is a true 3 year old Amy fan!
